Down the wishing well

Down To The Wishing Well

running wild and running free
running through the mountains and through the trees
down to the wishing well outside the run down house
lay in the grass and make shapes with the clouds
cant go home not to mom and dad
been out so late they'd get mad
my parents didnt know they could have me
so they adopted my brother but still i grew from a seed
deep down they hated him and what he was
he couldnt help it all he wanted was their love

take me down to the wishing well
down to where my brother fell
out in the moonlight, out in the star light
down that old beaten trail

standing there yelling down my brothers new found tomb
standing there so long now it was high noon
going home with the news of my brother's passing
and feeling the whips across my back lashing
how could you accuse me of such a crime
accusing a boy thats only nine,it was suicide
thats the day my mind snapped in two
so ill make their accusations true
theres a killer in me and a killer in you

take me down to the wishing well
down to where my brother fell
out in the moonlight, out in the star light
down that old beaten trail

These words send chills down my spine. I love how you paint such haunting pictures with your unique word choice.

very awesome write as always. my friend was in a situation similar, she was accused of killing her brother when he committed suicide. i wish people were more considerate when they killed themselves...they could at least leave a note or not have anyone around.
