Tracing The Source

I'm gunna write a list
Go through it piece by piece
Maybe then at least
I'll come up with a diagnosis
Something to trace the sources
Then find out how to cure this
It all started when I was little
I would hide under my pillow
Trying to escape sizzle
My brain would make when it was quite
I found out I couldn’t fight it
So I tried my best to disguise it
The whispered thoughts inside my skull
Back then I couldn’t tell
I didn’t know I wasn’t well
It was just something I had to deal with
So I learned how to suppress
And at the age of 8 I was depressed
My house was full of people
Even when I was in plain view
All I felt was see through
Fast-forward several years
Mastered how to hold my tears
Didn’t give a damn about my fears
I ceased to be afraid
I was a walking hand grenade
Yet never showing any rage
Walking without direction
Eyes closed through intersections
Overlooking every blessing
Friends and family all seemed distant
For these thoughts I had resentment
I don’t know where my soul went
It didn’t feel like it was with me
It just decided one day to leave
And I felt so incomplete
I am adjusted to know the truth
I’ve been shown it through my youth
Discard the points that are moot
Truth and depression walk hand in hand
That’s something I understand
That’s why I am the way I am
You cannot show me different
This is exactly how my life went
This is how my time’s spent
This is not an assumption
This is what went on
The case to all my problems
I look at most the world
And how it’s all unfurled
And I can see by who it’s ruled
But this is not your problem
I the one whose has got them
And its up to me to solve them
I am not a charity case
I am not here for you to save
That is not your place.

oh, Kore - I get this! Get it - big! I wouldn't dare try to save you (couldn't anyway...) but... will tell you that you are not alone! Thanks for this!
