A rose is not a rose without its vibrant color
And the thorns that line its stem.
It cannot grow without the help of another,
Just like one stitch cannot alone be a hem.
It needs nutrients to help it grow,
And water to support its life.
Although some people do not know,
And cut the poor flower down with a knife.
The lonely flower is trapped without its soil,
It remains confined to its vase.
It might have been better to have covered it with foil
Then to take away its heart, that lies in the base

excellent write. but one thing that bothered me when i read it was the line "Just like one stitch cannot alone be a hem." even though you were comparing it just shifted my thoughts too much from the rest of the work, but those are just my thoughts and they do not of course matter. =] but a lovely metaphor to use. |
