AMERIKA'S DARK HEART

Contributed by steeleyes on Friday, 21st May 2004 @ 06:23:16 AM in AEST
Topic: political

There is a hypocrisy
At the heart of America
The myth that America
Is SO kind and good
That it would never do a wrong
“As if it ever would!”

But we see these images daily
Direct from it’s blackest heart
As far as darkness goes
We know well where they start

Deep within America’s soul
Lies an arrogance complete
A sleazy violence too
An ugliness complete

Although many,
the majority in fact
lead blameless lives
There are those we all know
Who could do this in Iraq

These prejudiced bigots
And ugly redneck souls
Have no place in humanity
These are ugly ghouls

But the hypocrisy of America,
to tell the world how to live
when it swims in ugly prejudice
and has no help to give

It spreads the sanctimonious lie
That all it does is good
And that those who say otherwise
Are all so very crude

That if they don’t like it
They should get out of here
So say the pseudo-patriots
As they spread their word of fear

Well, look at these images
And realise what’s true
America has a heart of darkness
The solution begins with YOU

Your insights on America are refreshing in a time where it seems that many believe that "Patriotism" means keeping quiet.

Keep 'em comin'.

How sad and how true it is.... But remember the evil of the few don't outweigh the thoughts of the many. This war almost never started, Bush has had a nightmare of a presidency, and sooner or later the world will come together whether America likes it or not. One day you'll see how the world becomes one it's our destiny.

unfortunately the actions of a few overshadow the actions of the many good things Americans do...and the news fails to report those things
