Within Her Embrace

Grief
|
Walking through bleak woods by the shore,
My body bleeding and sore.
MY boots are muddy, my trousers soiled,
My soul is sick under the burden with which I've toiled.
Then from the darkness, I hear a clamor,
As though sounded by Thor's mighty hammer.
And from the mist, there came to be,
As beautiful a maiden as anyone could see.
Her raven hair flowing gently in the wind,
Pulling me forward as though a web I were in.
Then into the mist from whence she came,
This she then returned to the same.
And though I call the question same,
"Fair maiden, wilt thou tell me thy name?"
Standing alone, my soul feels as to die,
For from the ominous mist there comes no reply.
In despair I trudge through mist so bleak,
Swallowed with love for the maiden I seek.
"Why dost thou hide thyself from mine eyes?"
My soul screams into the grayest of skies.
And down my spine does run a shiver,
As though a serpent down did slither.
Then suddenly a cold terror did come to rest,
Did rest beneath my cold, shivering breast.
I turn to take in the beauty of the lake,
And the sight my eyes behold, my breath does take.
For standing out upon the lake is my maiden,
With a look as though with grief her soul were laden.
Her arms outstretch, an angel to embrace,
A beauty far more exquisite than satin or lace.
Upon the surface of the water, my foot does tread,
Does tread upon a path to which my lady has fled.
And as my foot treads upon the placid surface,
Everything is known about my single purpose.
And into her arms, my heart does flee,
Such a calmness now, no insecurity.
And to her bosom she now draws me,
Such a privilaged place for all to see.
To rain my kisses upon her breast,
And feel a rush within my chest.
Her skin so lifeless, cold, and pale,
As though with a sickness she did ail.
Yet she is still most beautiful to behold,
Surpassing even the beautiful Helen of old.
Now as I look into her black, lifeless eyes,
The desperation within my heart dose rise.
This feeling of dread taking over my mind,
A terror of an unknown kind.
Clutched within my Death's embrace,
Sends my soul soaring through space.
I realize that her beauty is her power,
As the last petal falls from the last flower.

wow that was like a freakin' epic or something... Thor, maidens, hair flowing, and it was long and used lots of big words. as george harrison would say "it's all too much". but hey, it's your thing, so keep it up and do what ya like!
