Gate To Your Heart

Contributed by TheReturnOfx7 on Thursday, 20th May 2004 @ 12:41:21 AM in AEST
Topic: LovePoetry

I gave you a rose just to see if you'd smile
Just to see if you had room within your heart
I wanted to see if I could reach you, to make you mine
To see if there was a glimmer to be found with your eyes

What I found was so much more than childish infatuation
There was a life time of untapped emotion, looking for release
Within you, there was so much more than I could ever dream
I found neatly penned entrance ways, the kind in my prayers

There was nothing to be seen of physical gain
I knew you'd be content with me just knowing your identiy
You tried not to show it all, but it eventually slipped out
Within a song you had wrote a message was waiting to be found

You embraced not the devil I had suddenly become
Appearing numb to the rumors that were spreading fast
Within a tender kiss, I awoke eyes opened to a new sight
That the gate to your heart opened, and you welcomed me
