Art is more than just a pretty painting on the wall

Topic: LovePoetry

I couldn’t remember your name
Or maybe I deliberately blocked it out
In fear of never getting it out of my head again
Driving me slowly insane
Among the orange tree’s
Which seems to merge subtly into one before our eyes
We stroll along, hand in hand
Past water coloured pink lakes
So my imagination walks on water
But art is more than a pretty painting on the wall
In a sleazy run down motel
But you make this become a miracle
And bring Nirvana to me
And yet that searching look in your deep set eyes…
That eager smile playing at your lips…
I still can’t bring myself to say
Your presence makes the pain fade away
And when you hold my hand in yours
With each reassuring, protective finger
Curling around mine
Nothing is as it really seems
The lakes ripple pink, the tree’s sway orange
I won’t sleep
Because with every breath I’m closer to death
But every blink of the eye brings me closer to you
And we become a miracle
Painting the skies red
Completing the masterpiece, one moment at a time
