My last laugh will never reach you
Even though I’m laughing loud
These sound waves won’t ever see you
Because I’m the one who isn’t proud
Ha ha look what I’ve done to you
I’ve made you into nothing now
Ha ha look how he hates you
I’m the only one he thinks of now
My last laugh is silent
He won’t let me tell
But it can remain defiant
If I just keep thinking this will end well
Just this once I’d love to scream it
From the tallest, highest mountain
I want to tell her of our secret
And hear her weep like a flooding fountain
Revenge, they say, is bittersweet
But not for me this time
For she’s the one who will soon meet
The pang in my sour-laced rhyme
