Alone I Cry

Contributed by CuttersAngel on Wednesday, 19th May 2004 @ 08:43:24 AM in AEST
Topic: DarkPoetry

I remember those winter nights so well
When love was the only thing I felt
The lights in your room as we laid on your bed
I remember you holding me, the sweet words you said
I remember you so gently placing yourself on top
And that special connection was the only thing I sought
I remember it being romantic, the love so intense
But now we’re on the other side of the fence
We have our problems and we have our fights
And nothing I do makes it all right
The pain slowly grows with each passing day
In this rhyme are the words I’ll never say
The changes I could make I know you don’t support
And for that reason I’ve lost so much hope
So much trust I put into you
Now my thoughts wander, not knowing what to do
I find myself becoming more quiet.

There are so many things I wouldn’t have done
But now I accept the consequences to come
We’re so different, I’m so dark
You don’t know the pain held within my heart
Each day a smile is worn for only you
So that I don’t have to explain the pain I’ve been through
I wish I could tell you about the pain I hide
But you wouldn’t understand, so alone I cry.
