Sunday School when I was three
Brought me bended on one knee
Singing Jesus Loves Me So,
Never helped my spirit grow.
Smiley faces, stickers, glue,
Jesus doodles that I drew
Aren’t enough ten years from then
No one can just stay where it all began
People more concerned on how they look
Then what’s inside that old Blue Book
Just some words, some guy once said,
It’d mean so much more if they only had read
“Who cares? I’m saved, I’m good to go”
But where’s the faith you were sent to show?
Memorize a Bible verse
Days and days spent to rehearse
For the award of one simple candy piece
And then forgotten words of peace
He can be so much more
If you would only open the door
Take a leap from the fake world
See the glory of God unfurled….
