Not Enough

Contributed by Lone_er on Tuesday, 18th May 2004 @ 07:55:55 PM in AEST
Topic: LoveRemembered

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Not Enough
I stated my case for the last time
Poured out my heart with tears of love
In return I received silence and neutrality
So I shall pursue this topic no longer
The love that once raged with passion
Now only glows as a dying ember
A warm reminder of love
Once thought too special to ever end
I will appeal to you no longer
Hope shall not turn me again
I am convinced the god of your destiny
Has hidden my heart from you
Do not think I go easily
Indeed I go with great sadness and remorse
For my heart still wants to believe
Confirming its status as a romantic fool
No doubt you will reach out to me
Perhaps for the moment want me to stay
But the weeks, yea months of loneliness
Have spoken louder than your words
Do I love you?
You know I do!
Every moment of every second of every day
Sadly it wasn’t enough
Russ
Written with sadness and grace...I especially liked this verse: "I am convinced the god of your destiny
Has hidden my heart from you" How true.....The last paragraph was truly the most heartfelt part of your write,it truly saddened me to read this,I think we can all go back or relate to this scene.So sorry you have to live these feelings right now,but on a brighter note, they make you write great poetry,
PumpkinPie
Waning love is a very sad thing. The love is still there but the need for the person is gone. I think sometimes we just outgrow each other. Hope life and love improves for you soon.
Hugs,
Rita
I hear every word of this.
When it gets to that point u have to be kind to yourself... I know from experience......OOOOOne day after my last ex
I realized the pain was gone...
It's her loss and someday she will come to her senses but then it will be too late.
Hang tuff, my friend. U will survive it.
luv, huggs,
emy
