Sons three then married Celtic maids in time
and children carried forward fathers' role
as military might to stay barbaric crime -
to be good Roman soldiers lives' long goal.
A constant vigil made kept wide wall whole
but sentry duty seemed a frightful life
for guarding rampart wasn't country stroll
nor easy time for ever loving wife.
Against the Roman brides there seemed incessant strife.
When Roman legions gave Britannia Isle
back, leaving great wall desolate and bare,
the Celtic population great with bile
overran rampart's high defense still fair.
The angry Celtic tribes large holes did tear
and made that heinous late obstruction pay
for taking most their fields and cities rare.
Now bright was seen the light of freedom's day -
to live a fine and wholesome life behind that stay.
