insomnia

Topic: toughstuff

insomnia is on my mind
peace and sleep are hard to find
the cogs are grinding in my head
but the silence is what i truly dread
because when all is quiet and dark
the mind wanders throught the devils arch

there he greets you with a smile
knowing what he has in mind, is surely vile!
he will tempt you with every delight
but resist him you must you might
falling deeper inside your thoughts
your brain twisting until it contorts

you feel yourself sinking through the floor
reaching out, grabbing, but missing the door
your stuck inside your encaged mind
battered down by an ancient bind
your lost inside the darkest hour
in an everlasting magical power

it's insomnia, playing a game
coaxing you into taking the blame
you fell for it and now you'll pay
with a never ending hellbound day.

I have insomnia - hate it when my brain won't go to sleep but my body is so tired I can't stand up lol. It is a trap, a mind game, hard to stop thinking when all wound up.
Great write.
