Your Beast Within

Contributed by Lia on Wednesday, 9th October 2002 @ 08:15:00 AM in AEST
Topic: LovePoetry

Surrounding your heart is a glowing aura of gold
It pierces my skin like push pins through paper
The ravenous beast inside your soul
Paces the floors inside it's cell you've created
Clicking heels against the barren ground
Echoing through the cold metal bars
Your tear stained pillow on which you lay your head
Is flatly shaped from the constant pounding of your fists
The frustration and confusion corrupts your mind
The agony you feel bleeds through your pores
I've offered you my hand a time or two
Only to have my compassion shoved over a cliff
If not for the trees to break my fall
Your breathe of fire would have crushed me
How long can you carry on your facade
To keep your prison sealed
Your burdened beast is hidden deep
Your crystal eyes prevail
You wipe your stinging tears too fast for us to see
In the midst of us you play your part with ease
I've listened to your silent screams
I've felt your sweet carress
I've pushed your limits to their edge
I've kissed your crimson lips
You've unleased your beast into my life
I'll shoot it's presence dead
I'll force your hand into mine own
I'll break the beast that binds you
And when he leaves the jail to scorn me
I'll shut the door behind him

A beast by day,
A terror by night,
You'll have to pay,
What an awful fright.

Don't ask... Your poem is gripping, artistic, emotionally inspiring and just a itsy bitsy damn scary. Love it..... Keep up the good work.
(This is about a person and not about your linolium right?)
