A helping hand in times of trouble,
A smile during times of trouble,
And a tender hand
To help me along the way,
Or guide me down life’s path.
Loving me no matter what,
Showing unceasing compassion,
Demonstrating a love like no other,
Being all that he can be,
Giving all he has
To be the very best
For me his precious child.
Caring,
Loving,
Giving,
Understanding,
You alone give all of this.
Your love is what makes me whole.
The fact that you give me everything
I could ever want or need,
Is more than I could imagine
Or even understand.
Your care for me while I’m sick
Is more beautiful and lovely
Than the daisies and flowers
That bathe and clothe the fields.
A helping hand in times of trouble,
A smile during times of trouble,
And a tender hand
To help me along the way,
Or guide me down life’s path.
Caring,
Loving,
Giving,
Understanding,
You are all of these and so much more to me.
Dad I love you so much, You mean the world to me.

A father's love to a girl is her first taste of love. There is a special bond there for most that will take a girl into her future looking for the same characteristics as those her father portrayed. A father instills a girls impression of men and hopefully he is a good role model. Most men don't realize that.

This was the first poem I read on this site and wow, i was privelidged. This spoke to me so much. I really got something spiritual, you may have been talking to your dad on earth but it really made me think of my dad in heaven. Thankyou for this

I have a father that showed us all those things and more. He was there for me when things went wrong in my little world as a child. He walked me down the isle on my biggest day of my life. Dad...I miss you...
