Stranded In The Storms

Contributed by kidpoet_213 on Monday, 17th May 2004 @ 09:53:12 PM in AEST
Topic: toughstuff

Softly... falling tears can create...
Rolling emotions within that don't seem to relate
Broken hearts and fears in this life of give and take...
That robs my soul of its joy... and its grace
And replaces them with pain...
As the wild winds of doubt and shame...
Keep blowing in...
Howling in my face...
Haunting me... again and again

And the next thing I know...
I've got a brewing storm... raging deep inside of me
Wanting to be set free...
From the many changes and problems this life brings...
That aren't even connected...
It would seem

Then I find myself... in the middle...
Stranded in the middle of the storms
The storms of life....
That are raging all around me
As the thunder warns and rolls in distance...
And the lightning strikes in an instant...
It flashes so blindingly bright...
Lighting up my own dark midnight

Now... I'm feeling like nobody cares for me anymore
Crying most of the time...
As I sit and stare into the storms...
Into the storms of my life
I'm feeling so alone...
Oh... how it hurts me so...
'Cause nobody even cares if I live or die....
Or just fade away into the midnight blue skies

Stranded in the storms...
In the storms of life
Feeling like there's no tomorrow for me
Listening to the thunder roll...
And watching the lightning strike at the deep blue sea...
I call my life...

I feel like I just lost my best friend...
I feel like this life is all about to end...
So down... so alone...
Where has my life gone?
Why has it left me in some big old cloud of dust?

These answers... I seek...
And I cannot seem to find
I feel as though... I'm at the end of the line
There's nothing left for me here anymore
As I'm trying to seek shelter from the storms

Time is creeping in on me...
Ever so slowly...
Dark and ominous... the storm clouds hang
In my tearstained skies
My life is nearly done...
There's not even a hint of things to come...
As I'm standing here alone...
Stranded in the storms...
In the storms of life

The roads leading into my heart
Have become impassable...
Before I can reach shelter from the storms...
I've become bogged down on some lonely... desolate stretch of life
Just needing to be found...

The storms are getting more fierce...
Gaining in strength and power...
Growing more dark and lonely with each passing hour
Now is my only chance to seek shelter from the storms
But which way to go... forwards or backwards?
For I'm down in a valley...
Far below... my life a sunk to the lowest of lows

This soul is not so brave... but onward it goes...
Seeking a sanctuary from the storms
It's rough going... I keep climbing until I'm spent
I cannot climb another step...
For I'm stranded in the storms...
In the storms of life

I feel as though I'm drowning in the river of my mind...
Where no one would ever find me in time
But I've got to keep going...
It's my only chance to survive before it's too late...
I take a headlong plunge into the wilderness
of the heart and wait
There's no other way... but to ride out these storms...
That I find myself stranded in...
These storms of life

I was caught totally unprepared for what lies ahead...
And now I feel I have no friends...
To help me survive all the pain and dread
That has crept into my life
I'm left all alone to fight on my own the fierce storms... that I'm stranded in...
These storms of life...
