No Speed Dial, Just My Memory

Contributed by kayald on Monday, 17th May 2004 @ 10:53:34 AM in AEST
Topic: hbadday

I still know your number
Even though I cannot call
You act as though I don’t exist
And I ache from the torture.

When will I stop feeling guilty?
Why can’t I stop feeling used?
For just once I’d like to tell
All the things that we have done

Sometimes I just want to scream
Tear my vocal chords
Get you to listen to me
So I no longer have to be so calm.

Flirt with her, kiss her nose
Hold her hand in class
Act as though it shouldn’t matter
That I am standing there

What was I thinking?
Trying to be the cool girl
Who doesn’t mind a little action
From someone I’m not with

One day I won’t be able to stand it
I’ll just fall apart
And when I do, what will you say?
Will our secrets finally be told?

How I hate the way you treat me
When we are not behind closed doors
I am going to leave someday
But I don’t think I can

The pain you’ve caused
Is permanent and this won’t ever change
You will always think of me
As that girl who wasn’t good and went to far

A sudden change of behavior
That night in the dark
When no one else could see you
Your friends wouldn’t catch on

I want to be more
I still know your number
And how I wish you’d call.

Oh how I wish I could read a poem you posted and realize who you are talking about...( at least I think I know who you are talking about) A good post never-the-less and I did enjoy it. You write some very moving poetry.
