Ocean divide

Topic: LovePoetry

I’ve had just one taste of you,
Just one touch of your skin,
One kiss of your lips,
A night that's long been,

One night without regret,
Leaving cravings for more,
That can’t be fulfilled,
As we stand on different shores,

This memory haunting me,
Thoughts of you filling my day,
Could have been so much more,
If you weren’t so far away,

Now I’m coming to see you again,
Excited yet also scared,
A short time yet again,
I feel so unprepared,

I’m already too far in,
Meeting you for an instant,
As you keep getting better,
My thoughts have become constant

I’ll let things take their course,
In fear of more hurt,
Putting my trust in fate,
My wellbeing shan’t revert,

May my feelings not grow too fast,
Let them stay trapped inside,
As we’ll be back to how we were,
Either side of an ocean divide
