BEAUTIFUL ROSES ARE NO MORE

"BEAUTIFUL ROSES ARE NO MORE"

I can recall beautiful ladies of elegance and grace.
Dresses designed from layered tea roses and lace.

Each layer was apart of her being, her soul.
A layer for kindness, to be fine, a woman's role.
Soft gracious hearts always willing to give.
Geniune love, honest forthright splendid motive.
Beautiful Roses Are No More

One red American Beauty Rose plucked from her plant.
A gift from God, more precious than a Rembrandt,
Treasured even more than rubies or a diamond.
Given with special thoughtfulness from her husband.
Beautiful Roses Are No More

Time for family gatherings, if just at supper time.
Children well mannered, laughter heard at mealtime.
Relaxed atmosphere, always took the time to be near.
Recalling each other's days, helping in other ways.
Beautiful Roses Are No More

Our little old neighbor needs us, we'll take turns helping.
John check on her paper, watch her mail, she's ailing.
Jane you run the meals I've fixed for her each day.
I'll keep her company, we can all help her this way.
Beautiful Roses Are No More.

Our homes are no longer private, and peaceful
News events disrupt our restfulness, it's awful
Wars and rumors of wars, loved ones gone forever.
By-passing our locked doors, small electric fodder.
Beautiful Roses Are No More

Responsible teenagers eager to live their lives
Hopeful futures, so many dreams to realize.
A small pill is offered, brings a measure of relief.
Whole families devastated disbelief, untold grief!
Beautiful Roses Are No More

Multi-colored friendships, like a beautous rainbow rose
Friends forever, loyal, trusting, loving, never suppose.
Walked together on the arc of a rainbow so bright.
Overcome woes, blotted out with kindess, 'til all was right.
Beautiful Roses Are No More

Friends now, glass roses, slightest bump, as pieces shatter.
Broken marriages, relationships without marriage scatter!
Where can we find solid friends, those that understand?
Listen to our hearts, console us, walk with us hand in hand?
Beautiful Roses Are No More

Golden Roses, genuine, joined together in the same vase
Money was not their goal, materialism could never erase,
Their full time devotion, admiration, and thankfulness
So grateful to have a wonderful mate was enough?
Beautiful Roses Are No More
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
We've turned our backs on His Natural Beauty
Replaced His beautiful creations with "things" bought cheaply.
Such as the most beautiful created rose of all
His marvelous miracles such as a new born babe intact.
Scientists are still searching for answers and fact.
Remember when our lives were as simple as a kind act?
A smile, a helping hand, consoling a contact.
Beautiful Roses Are No More......
Exchanged instead for money stacked.
Big houses, new vans to attract......
Setting of His Sun, or the early morn sunrise.
Colors unsurpassed artistry, His Beauty no one denies.
'Twas He that taught Beauty to all mankind.
Until we return to His instructions, Beauty's resigned.
His Beautiful Roses Are No More....
Given so graciously to all humankind.
Beautiful Pictures framing a very sad poem. There is hope though, a baby. New life brings sometimes problems but much happiness. My sympathy goes out to you Connie in this your regretful poem but always look on the bright side better times will come and you will have roses again. of that I am sure.
Poetic hugs.
bernard.
I thank God everyday, for I still have beautiful roses in my life and I still hand deliver when necessary. Guess it is just a small town attitude where neighbor helps neighbor and town comes together in strife.
Hugs,
Rita
