My Garden 's Talking

Contributed by Whisper on Monday, 17th May 2004 @ 12:19:12 AM in AEST
Topic: ChildrensPoetry

I dreamt One Day In my Backyard ....

My Lawn Statues seemed alive
and the Queen of Fairies Came to Visit.

And All God's Teeny Weenie ,
Little Creatures sat talking to one another.

Their lips can only be seen moving ,
if you Look Really Close.
And some ,you can hear, and some seem.... like Ghosts
With the Only the glisening of their Fairy Wings as the flutter bye.
Comforting Signs that they Are Actully There.

Oh Its Only Pretend - In a Mind of a Child -
Where Everything is An Adventure.
And a sharing of Stories and Things.

The Newest addition is a Pin-Wheel Bug
She's plump and red and has three spots on each of her five turning wings.
A Black Belly .. Pink and Black Face.
A red button nose,
and her cheeks are all puffy.
And beneath it all
She has quite the grin.

She's in with the Begonias
Sure Hope they 'll all take,
She is just the Bestest Touch ,
to add to the Space.

The Queen Fairy was quietly watching from the corner of the roof,.
And as she turned and she smiles
and said to herself.
"I really must say.... Lady Bug Red ,
You do
Brighten up the place"

Then, I thought I heard the Lady Bug say,
watching the Queen Fairy coming her way....

"I think I'II keep you Company
Among Our All Year Flowers.
Or at least until Old Skies World ,
Settles with the Weather
ON Which Exact Season It Is?"

Queen Fairy drew closer , and gave a answer
in her own special way.

"Some days it is Cold
And Other Days Hot
The in between Days
It Varies Alot.
We can have all of that in One Day
and Rain, Snow and yes dear Lady Bug
even... Hail
And then after that We're in the Grey !"

Boldly , Speaking Up The Lady Bug retorted, beaming ever so slightly,

"Til to the Rescue
Mr. Sun Comes Our Way.
Then the Day settles Down
And Whatever Comes What May. "

The Queen Fairy Smiled once more and winked briefly
Then sprinkled her Fairy Dust all over my garden Humming.
Rose up to the top of my Backyard Fence
And Flew away.

I know they don't mind me Lisening ,
As they talk among themseves here.

But I can't help, but Giggle
If they ever knew...

I can sit in my Back yard
and I Can See and
hear Them Too.
