Below the Surface

Below the Surface

I thought there was a tomorrow
But I know that's a lie
I thought there was a tomorrow
But that day is not real
That day is uncertain

Today is too real to handle
While yesterday is unchangable
But tomorrow is uncertain
To be reached at all

Tomorrow can be taken
Tomorrow is there, somewhere
It's under the surface
But it's not there for me
Because I live in the past years

The present endings
Never were preceeded
The past holds my life
Tomorrow holds nothing
While the present is nothing
But I do not know when
I shall live
Everything lies under the surface

At least you got a good comment from him: )

What a shame people slept on this remarkable piece!! This is so well written, even to read it now after all your progress...You've captured a type of sadness here that I rarely see in poetry...the kind that lingers...and you expressed it quite well. The second and third stanzas were the 'meat' of this write in my opinion. Very well done.

Scorp.

Poetry is much like a great photo, a single "moment in time" capturing many feelings and emotions. Yet, they are very alive; creating stirrings within the readers who form visual "pictures" of the expressed emotions within the Poem. ©
