Light on faded windshield glass,
Speaking slowly to streetlights gone,
Another love and life gone fast,
A setting sun bids friends farewell,
When the future’s harder than others warn,
Memories remain we can always retell,
Somehow my life is changed for good,
But those nights and those dreams slip quickly away,
Bringing back summer if only I could,
Nights alone and empty thoughts stay,
This hollow life brought only fear,
And pain from a life begun to fray,
Here I am, living life through my pen,
Tears down my cheek remind me that I am
Living for summer when I can see her again.
