Morning into Night

Contributed by Silent-No-More on Sunday, 16th May 2004 @ 02:24:01 PM in AEST
Topic: AngryPoetry

I awoke one morning to it
The obvious, painful truth that
(you are killing me)
You are, simply and sweetly, in love.
Wrapping yourself around me
(and suffocating me)
Like a scarf tied too tight
Promises falling away, sadly
(it’s crushing me)
You think that this is enough
To sustain us, but it is
(torture for me)
Nothing more than hollow
Stupid conversations that will
(tear me apart)
Fill you up but leave me wanting
Until I run off into the night
(you are killing me)

Ohhhh brilliant! I could picture this perfectly, and the whispered words in the brackets. Very creative and, quite simply, beautiful.

Take Care

This reminds me of living a life in silent desperation. Suffocating from a relationship that does not reach the desired (the essential) depth, but runs aground on the immutable sand bar of life. I think many of us can relate to this feeling. Beautiful write.
