For years my heart had no owner,
I was in fear of being a loner,
Then you flew into my life like a bird,
You listened to my heart, my every word.
I know in spirit you’re forever with me,
Even though bodily, you can’t always be,
I can hear music when anyone says your name,
My feelings inside I try to keep them tame.
My heart skips to he beat of your tune,
I know I’ll be with you again soon,
I can still smell you on my pillow,
My tree of love is no weeping willow.
I look at your toothbrush next to me,
Like you and me, stood together against the hands of time,
Your photo stares at from the wall,
Thinking of you I feel 10 feet tall.
Your kiss from before is still on my lips,
I recall the feeling & in my step there’s a skip,
Your name is written across my soul,
A soul that was incomplete that you have made whole.
With your presence you create mind fire works,
You’ve found where every last bit of my love lurks,
We don’t need a piece of paper that clarifies marriage
Our love for one another is far more than just the average.
You’re the Romeo to my Juliet,
I knew this from the first time our eyes met,
Just like them our love’s forever true,
Mark, I know that I’m lucky to have you.
