You rescued me from no man’s land,
Stuck out there on life’s lost strand,
You took me in and gave me so much love,
I look up and thank god above.
Even when you had deep rooted doubts,
You listened to my disturbed screams and shouts,
Comforted me when I couldn’t bear to leave my bed,
You stayed, where all others would have fled.
They say blood is thicker then water,
I strongly disagree as your adopted daughter,
You’re the parents that every child wishes for,
The kind that won’t turn their backs on you, but open the door.
I don’t know what I’ll do when you’re gone,
I’ll find it impossible to carry on,
But I will be happy, not wear a frown,
Because I know that you’ll be in heaven smiling down.
There’s no two other parents like you, who walk the earth,
The angels and cherubs were present at your birth,
There’s one thing I can tell you for a fact,
Mum and Dad you’re a once in a life time double act!
