Whispers a Scream

She glides through this life like an angel
But bound to the ground
With wings lost to the wind
Striving to find a place to belong
Rolled by the tide of life and left
exhausted on the shore
Left hollow inside to walk
in the shadow of absence
Accompanied only by the weight of loneliness
resting its head on her slender shoulders
Salvation lost beyond an unseen horizon
Still bound to a life without love
As she whispers a scream
to the heavens above
