The night sky sprawled across her slumber
the curtains are drawn
so no person can view her interchangeability
as she undresses from her suit of
the bluest sky-filled fantasies
and clothes herself in the hooded wrath
of the velvetiest grey skies
overshadowing a bloodied sunset
which descends upon
the narrowing plank of wood
to which her unpolished, hard-soled feet are nailed
Her stonewashed expression is unchanged
with the turning of the winds
and the red rivers that once flowed
to an unnamed central dwelling
have drained from her pale complexion
compromising this weathered snow angel
to a frosted silence
atop an unmapped mountain range
She is iced with fake crystallised light
emitted from the chandelier overhanging
the neck of this raggedy doll
hanging by the nail of her consumer
still, and unmoved by feeling
patiently waiting for the draping
of the moons and the stars
so she can frolick with the leaping sheep
as the guardian fairies with their lanterns
strung across the sleepful head
dance about amidst floral fields
protective of charming memories
And she has a deep and meaningful conversation
with the man in the moon
about what life could be...
if there was a ladder to transport you there.
