He started out in isolation,
Caring for those he loved
Now he faces being alone,
Scared of what he will become
In a reach for companionship
He finds someone he thinks he?ll love
But years go by with her
And he still feels alone
All at once a new face appears
Lively, young, and beautiful
Perhaps this companion
will bring him back to life
With dances and walks in the night
His life is exciting again
But a hitch in the plans
Will come as a shock
Unable to figure out what to do,
As the new face is leaving
In a spontaneous decision
He throws his life away
On the icy snow

Meg I liked this one. I liked that you did it in free verse. This is the one for the book Ethan Frome... right? Must be... pretty good, Meg, keep it up |
