Are you listening now?

Topic: AngryPoetry

Does it matter how hard I try to write,
How hard my fingers bleed from this,
Never ending abrasion and tunnel syndrome,
I try so hard to get my points across,
Do I have to stand on top of a clock tower,
Holding an automatic rifle shooting down below,
To be heard by someone who gives a damn,
What do I have to do to make myself heard

So what if I had such a traumatic childhood,
If my parents dont really care than why should you,
Do you tire from my poetry being exactly the same,
Talking of abuse, self inflicting deep wounds,
If thats not good enough than what should I write,
That my life was healthy and happy, full of joy,
That I've fallen in love over a thousand times,
But I've been to fat and ugly even to get a kiss

Should I write about the time when I slit my wrists,
With a pair of blunt scissors while on a school trip,
Should I write about all my failed suicide attempts,
I know I should bother, because who would care?
Maybe I'm just another failed talentless poet,
So what if I can write lines in thirteen sylabols?
Anyone in the world can write like that,
So what if I poured out all my emotions for you?

I try and I try to be more original with every poem,
But the problem is everyones always living in hell,
what does that tell you about the state of the world
When all the poems are written exactly the same,
Speaking of brooding memories of child abuse past,
Writing about the scars and burns in their hands,
The reason I cant be original is because everyone,
Is suffering around the world. The world is too dark

So here I am writing a reflective boring piece of art,
About this hypocritical dying boring world,
Filled with mountains of human waste and trash,
All discarded by the society who claimed to love,
No matter what someone tells you the world is hell,
Every second another child's trust is abused,
And all we can do is write and complain every day,
And not get of our arses and try and fix it all,
Try and improve the future where others had failed
If it hurt us so bad than we gotta do something,
More and more children are hurting every day,
They're so scared about the consequences,
Of admitting the abuse that was delt to them,
From the loving caring hand of society around them
Its time for us to stop feeling pity for ourselves,
Its time to stand tall and make things right,
Fix the faliures of the previous generation,
Succeed in making sure kids dont have to cry,
But thats never gonna happen,
We might as well all lay down like dogs and die

okay, here's a thought... where would we be without hurt? i'm not saying that hurt or abuse is good, i'm just some woman sitting here wondering.... if we didn't have hurt, would we just dissolve in our uncomplicated paradise?
something to think about.
