Tarnished and withered like a ghost
I slowly become what I hate the most
A shadow of war, fear, and pain
Never looking back at what I’ve slain
I ride on my horse once pure white
Whitened away in what was once might
My old fingers clutch my banner pale
This lets me know I will one day fail
I long for peace found not even in death
The darkness calls for my last breath
I lust for war my battle cry
Those damned spears will always fly
I’m old and tiered and can no longer fight
Yet I press on with all my might
Why can’t my sword drop to the ground
And the spirits send me to where I am bound

Pictured you upon the horse
with the sword in your hand
wanting to let it go
never to fight again.
I thought of this my friend
me walking over
and taking it from your hand
throwing it down
and say come down
you dont have to fight again.
good good write..sandy |
