In The Starlight

Contributed by TheReturnOfx7 on Saturday, 15th May 2004 @ 02:31:10 AM in AEST
Topic: oops

The darkest moments stand before me
Whispering unto the moon my secrets
Midnight colored waters kissing my toes
The refreshing taint of the sea on my nostrils

Crucified within the stolen starlight
Killed myself for all the world to see
The nails now loosening their grip
Finger-tips slipping away from death's embrace

Within broken dishes and a battered ego
No more are these to be places to hide
Though memories remain, scars fresh on my mind
Reminding me of when I laughed in the reaper's face

The ashes of a heart burnt blacker than my sky
Scattered what's left of it on darker waves
Looked into the heavens, and no longer feared
As I saw nothing but another endless ocean

Embraceing the mild glow of the starlight
Weeping silently at the sight of this holy gift
I knew the time had to celebrate my chance
Just to be here, alive and breatheing
