Diary Of A Soldier Part III

Contributed by The_Phantom on Friday, 14th May 2004 @ 07:55:40 PM in AEST
Topic: Patriotic

A faint smell of fear, memories trapped in a tear,
The past creeps in, I'm reminded of my sins,
The sun sets, I'm left alone with only my regrets,
The sky becomes dark, I feel an emptiness within my heart,

Pain becomes stronger, the healing takes longer,
I can't help but scream, cutting myself watching me bleed,
Turn away from the light of day,
Enter the relam of darkness, turning off all emotions becoming heartless,

Open the book to a new chapter, giving in to this rapture,
Leave my soul in seach of gold,
Listen to the voices, unable to fight off these forces,
Good -vs- evil, which is more conceivable,

Which side am I on, where do I belong,
Confused by both I chose not to vote,
I rather speak my mind then follow any of these swines,
I'm my own man, why can't people understand,

So I stand alone, while people protest outside my home,
I am who I am and that's all I can be, I fight for my country and help keep it free,
Which is worst, a beheaded man, or a naked picture of a woman?

Nether one is right, but both have happened in the mist of this fight,
We should punish the ones that did this, but back the soldiers whose family misses them,
Let the candles burn until each and every soldier has returned,
So welcome them home with open arms, and thank them for protecting you from harm.

Forever Faithful
The Phantom

Sorta sad but very good... I haven't read the other parts but this one could easily stand alone.

Glory and honor friend. It *****es me off that i can't help in this. The pain for you all must be great. If i could i would gladly take the place of one of you though i'm sure i could never fill the shoes nor do i honor them. Honor them or not when my time comes i will join the cause. It's alway been my dream. God bless you all. Fight the good fight. with love and admoration: shadow.

You are duty bound.."Let the candles burn until each and every soldier has returned,
So welcome them home with open arms, and thank them for protecting you from harm"
sure..that is the duty of the people of your motherland.. venkat
