Everyone's aware
That we're ending
Together
People scattered on tables and chairs
Weeping, smiling, scribbling furiously
On each other's shirts, books... hearts
Wishing to have made an impact.
Five years together. A pentagon of strength.
Friends and foes. But none of the petty
disagreements matter anymore.
All that matters is that we are
Together.
For wanting to end on a harmonious note,
The sense of unity and understanding
Is more vibrant and intense than ever.
As memories mix with the present
It all becomes too much
I love each and every person here
And each lash is coated in deep, damp appreciation for each of them. Revelling in my joyful sorrow.
I jumped out of the rhythm
briefly to observe the picture with the beat-keeper.
We agreed it was beautiful. But transcience is beautiful too...
So I guess, in a way, I'll be glad to be starting a new symphony.

Wow . . . the feelings you've captured in this eloquent, beautiful poem are so familiar . . . and you've captured them so well. So many little phrases you use seem to sum it all up so well-- "We agreed it was beautiful. But transcience is beautiful too..." and "Weeping, smiling, scribbling furiously
On each other's shirts, books... hearts
Wishing to have made an impact"-- just so well put. Nicely done.

You should become a poetess.
I'd pay to read stuff like this - and if you're only as old as school leavers are, then you have an iridescent future awaiting you, Ms. Dagger, i'm sure in whatever you decide to do.
Only 5 stars for this, because I can't give 10, unfortunately. |

It was a strange way for the ride to end, I agree. You were also right in your final words... starting the next symphony is the most exciting part! I have no regrets. Love Chris xxxxx |
