Melancholy oblivion
Surreal landscapes
Desolate
Barren
Deserted
Lonely
Raptured light leads the way
Leads your descent
Towards darkness
The blackened void of despair
Of lost hopes
Of morbid prophecies
These hollow promises
Catch in your throat
Constricting you
Restricting you
It’s too late
To take them back
My ears have heard
My eyes have seen
My lips have spoken
These empty whispers
Echoing
Upon the planes
Shattered silence
Like broken glass
Through the windshield you travel
Only to end up here
The surreal landscape
Our melancholy oblivion.

I know these feelings very well. The imagery just stood out. I actually felt as though I was in this oblivion. Great write! |
