We have that familiarity
Like the closest of friends,
And if something was to happen to one of us
We'd be each other's anchors until the end,
We stay up and talk to all
Hours of the night,
And when those tears start calling
We tell each other it's going to be all right.
You hold me the way you always have
That makes my heart begin to pound,
But that same heart doesn't ache as much
When you aren't around.
I can't put my finger on it,
When it happened I don't have a clue,
But I realized just this morning that I'm not
In love with you.
You're my best-friend
That's for certain,
And you'd help me to alleviate any
Single burden...
But I suppose that it's for the best.
I'm free to love again,
You fell out of love with me one year ago...
And finally when asked about us I can say, "Just Friends."
