All of my 19 years are cascading through time,
Brimming me with cherished memories sublime,
Another year that had me soaring to the stars,
Another year that left me with inevitable scars.
Like a butterfly whose wings have now fully grown,
I'm equipped to take flight into the world unknown,
New encounters and dreams remain straight ahead,
Acquired maturity will guide me as I tread.
Poignant times have dwelled and tested my strength,
Yet in those moments have surfaced true friends,
Another year has gone and I bade it farewell,
Hopefully next year there'll be more that I can tell.

Happy birthday, blueheart! May it be a good one.
Nice poem. I liked the line about inevitable scars . . . every year we start anew, knowing that we're most definitely going to encounter those scar-makers-- but we're also going to be "soaring to the stars". Amazing what a year can hold, and doubly amazing that you managed to capture such in this :).
