I was standing at the corner looking in a window
When I saw the most horrendous sight,
This poor, pitiful creature that I saw
Must not know wrong from right.
Her face was to cynical,
She didn't look happy at all,
Looking old beyond her years
I just couldn't believe what I saw.
I couldn't help but say to myself
That this girl had been around the block a time or two,
And even though I didn't know her,
I knew that much to be true.
To busy to stop and help her
I continued on my way,
But at the next stop, the next corner,
I saw her twice, in just one day.
I thought that must mean something,
That maybe I was supposed to help her out,
But as I stepped up to the window
I realized that no one could be looking out.
The building was deserted,
There was no one on the street,
To my horrible surprise, the person I had been judging so harshly,
This time, just happened to be me.
