Moving On

Contributed by pixie on Thursday, 13th May 2004 @ 01:54:53 PM in AEST
Topic: EmotionalPoetry

My past has always cast a shadow over me,
Wouldn't leave me alone and let me be,
Would haunt me like a ghost in the night,
Hinder my future and fill me with fright.

I let it get in the way of feeling good about being me,
It kept me a prisoner and I had to get free,
For years it has been a constant war,
I would be the loser, of that I was so sure.

I knew that I had to deal with my past,
I had to do something, my sanity was fading fast,
I felt like a shell of a person,
If I left it any longer, I knew I would worsen.

It took alot of courage to admit I couldn't do it alone,
To ask for help and pick up the phone,
But I am so gald that I asked for assistance,
As my past was incredibly persitant.

It's amazing to think of how far I have come,
To a caring, loving person from one before who was so numb,
I am determined to beat this once and for all,
To break through all of life's brick walls.

Just what I needed to hear today. After reading that, my emotions just flipped from sad to happiness, thank you very much.
That's actually rather weird because I wrote a poem today named "Moving On" too! Hehe what a crazy world hey.

Take care and keep up the positive writing!

Much love,
PerfectlySanex

Wow, I loved the wording and flow.

My favorite part:
I am determined to beat this once and for all,
To break through all of life's brick walls.

Very nice

~Kris~
