One Summer Night

It was a beautiful summer night,
When my body became full of fright.
I have walked this land for over three hundred years,
Only to spill blood and tears.
Walking through the town, it would have been,
So easy to let bodies fall to the ground.
Passing people by, and seeing nothing but fear in their eyes.
I could think of nothing,
Except of dying, for the second time..
I walked to the highest mountain side,
And sat wishing for the break of daylight.
In my moment of sitting, and waiting,
I could do nothing, except think of all the ones that I have killed.
I had also thought of what it was like to be mortal,
But those thoughts were much harder, to think of.
I had sat there, and talked to your God,
Who was also once mine.
Asking for another chance of life, and to be able,
To walk in the sunlight, as tears of crimson red rolled down my face,
And the morning was ready to take its place.
I had closed my eyes, and rested my head upon a stone,
Knowing at this moment, I wasn’t alone.
Falling into a deep sleep, and feeling warmth upon my skin.
I could feel the daylight breaking in.
As I opened my eyes, it was hard to see,
For this was a life I have not seen, in many centuries.
The sky was as blue as the sea,
The valley was green, and full of much beauty.
As I stood to my feet, I could feel the wind as it brushed across me.
There was a smell of fresh mountain air, and the sound of joy,
From the valley down below.
I wondered what folks would think of me, as I walked into town,
But not one could even care that I was there.
Not one except for a woman, with beautiful red hair.
I had looked into hers eyes knowing I’ve seen them before.
She had offered me food, and a bed from next door
I had slept peacefully, and in comfort,
Waking up in the night hours with a hunger.
So I freshened up, and grabbed a bite to eat.
As the woman and I again came to meet.
She invited me back to her room, for some romance under the moon.
Hands upon her thighs, and staring into, her beautiful green eyes.
Lips were blood red, and reminded me of death.
Skin as pale as a white dove,
And a heart that thumped, like it was in love.
She placed one hand upon my neck, and the other on my back
She had smelt like a field of roses
As we began to brush noses.
She had gave me a deep kiss, one that no man should ever miss.
It was like a moment of ecstasy,
Then within a flash, she sank her teeth into me.
So again a new life for me has begun.
This was a moment I shall never forget, for my new life
Was nothing more than death again.
My soul had risen into the black sky, and
Blackness had filled once more in my eyes.
Fury and rage had built up inside, as I stared into her beautiful green eyes.
I had then thanked that woman, for what she has done.
Then told her we were going to have some fun.
I had grabbed that woman, and ripped her heart,
From the depths of her chest.
Then turned and walked away, with her heart in the palm of my hand.
Her body had fallen to the floor, and so I have killed again once more.
And now back out into the streets I go,
Only to feed from the only life, that I have ever known.
