Nature's Way

Contributed by thumper on Wednesday, 12th May 2004 @ 10:03:05 PM in AEST
Topic: NaturePoetry

The skies, they are a'darkenin'
A storm's about to break!
There's a need to scurry back
Inside, for Goodness Sake!

All God's creatures great and small
Have sensed this all along
They've hunkered down inside their homes
To weather out the storm

Oh no! The storm's a startin'
The wind is blowin' strong
The lightenin' is a'crackin'
And the rains a'peltin' down

The rains came down, the winds they howled
The lightenin' flashed and flickered
The storm it made a big 'ol noise
It made my heart beat quicker

It's over now, the sun's come out
The world looks sharp and bright
This is Mother Nature's way
Of setting her house right!

Interesting and quite novel style. Mother Nature cleaning house. I like that idea. Wonder if that is what happens in the spring when we get all the showers. Maybe that is where the term 'spring cleaning' came from? I truly enjoyed this write.

Awww, this is a nice one. Made me smile :). Great flow to it, the type that sounds great aloud, and with a certain pleasant, quaint quality to it . . . well done.
