The Man in the Rank

Contributed by Voice-of-Revolution on Wednesday, 12th May 2004 @ 03:20:33 AM in AEST
Topic: war

presidenti e re li mandan alle frontiere
d'un mondo su cui tramontando sta il sole,
non chiedono mai, non pensano mai
gli uomini in schiere sui treni freddi:
"Perche` sarem in guerra?"

avvolti, tra le rovine
civili miseri si raggomitolano in paura
lamentando per amati perduti,
figli morti
tra i combattimenti,
dal sangue coagulato da pena
bisbiglian loro in loro miseria
"Perche` sarem in guerra?"

"Perche` sarem in guerra?"

non vedono le loro moglie,
come son seguite da leopardi e pantere
che braman, che vogliono
di struggerle per contentare
l'uzzolo loro-chiameran le donne
per loro uomini, ma non ci saran,
vittime di capitalismo, si chiedono:
"Perche` sarem in guerra?"

"Perche` sarem in guerra?"
"Perche` sarem in guerra?"
"Perche` sarem in guerra?"

si continua lo stesso grido
senza sapere, che furono tutti traditi
i credenti spesi, come pallottole amare,
tra i campi
dove i capitalisti giocano
Il Gran Gioco

Poetry is much like a great photo, a single "moment in time" capturing many feelings and emotions. Yet, they are very alive; creating stirrings within the readers who form visual "pictures" of the expressed emotions within the Poem. ©
