I’m trying to remember where I begin;
a time before you made me wear
a stranger’s skin.
This tattered carcass I now bear
gives no absolution for you.
A time before you made me wear
this skin that burns me through,
and all the tears you made me cry
gives no absolution. For you
my fountain of excuses has run dry.
The scars your touch has engraved,
and all the tears you made me cry
have finally surfaced. Enraged,
soon I will be able to shed
the scars. Your touch has engraved
memories that replay in my head;
I’m trying to remember where I begin;
soon I will be able to shed
a stranger’s skin.
