Standing in the Rain

Topic: NaturePoetry

Sensing the clouds roll in, I turn slowly.

My eyes begin to sparkle as I smile.

Sprinting spiritedly out the front door.

The sound of bare feet blends with sounds of rain.

Raindrops splattering through the windblown leaves,

Drumming on the ground and bouncing off my skin.

The sprightly wind swirls about my being.

The thin fabric of my shirt clings to me.

My hair melts as it soaks relaxingly.

My jeans take on the weight of every drop.

The wooden porch I stand on puddles up.

Giggles of delight mingle in the air.

Thunder cracks causing my smile to widen.

Neon scribbles scrawl across the marbled clouds.

The air is clear and I can breathe freely.

I step inside but cannot keep away.

Blissful laughter escapes impulsively.

Everything is right standing in the rain.

What a delightful refreshing poem. One with nature when she is in all her glory. I can easily see why ......Everything is right standing in the rain. June

Ah... the rain. Wonderful stuff it is! I too feel a sense of peace and joy in it. A few days ago I was working out here in Oregon, digging, grubbing in the dirt with a shovel. It was raining lightly, but I was in the woods, and it was dry under the trees. But looking across the meadow, and seeing the trees on the other side, dim and misty with that soft sheet of rain falling... magical. I love it.

There is something so cleansing in rain. I too like to stand in it and let it take the pain of life away. I really enjoyed this one, thank you
Very well done

Hang it all! Why do I have to live in California?! The only rain we get here is on TV... A great poem.
Take care.
David
