The Key That Didn't Fit

Contributed by Justalady on Sunday, 9th May 2004 @ 06:36:12 PM in AEST
Topic: LostLove

I don't have the time to play with emotions of the heart,
listen for the words of love that were spoke easy from the start.
I don't have the patience to wait for the hand to hold mine,
or feel the breath of air needed for this hill to climb.
I don't want the tears I weep when sadness begins,
realizing I played with love and knew I couldn't win.
I don't need the heartache that pounds within my chest
knowing that I can never pass this emotional test.
I gave what love I had, shared the most inner part of me
opened up the wall, let someone insert the magic key.
The narrow passage was too tight for love to slip through
the key I now hand back... it belongs again with you.
