Hello mother, I do hope your fine, you know for some reason I can't get you out of my mind,
Today seems strange, the world is at peace, and no fits of rage,
The wind still blows, the sand still stings,
The sun still shines, but I'm confused about something,
If I'm over here, and your over there, how will you know I care,
I can't see your face, and some memories seem lost or misplaced,
Should I send some roses, or maybe a card,
I don't have much money, and at this point I'm kinda in the middle of something,
This war has taken it's toll on me, so I thought I'd take a moment to tell you how much you mean to me,
It's really hard on me to be away, even more so now that's it's Mother's day,
So since I don’t have much money and I can't buy a card,
I thought I'd let you read this poem in my heart,
I love you so much and I hope to see you soon, Pray for me as I pray for you,
Mom I want you to know that your the best, and I'm sorry for all the times I was a pest,
Without you I wouldn't be me, without your love I would freeze,
You are my world and this is your day, I love you mom, happy Mother's Day.
