selfstruggles

Emotional stress has wrought troubled times-
And the mind now lingers within a mist-
As the heart dwells behind a protective shield-
Thoughts and feelings collide in constant battle…
Locked away someplace deep inside-
Resides a soul that is lost to reason-
Defeated and forgotten with the passing of time-
It now hides with injured pride…
Should one choose to seek out their own self-
Look beyond the realm of mortal thought-
Behind the image that is reflected flesh-
Into the world of a forgotten soul…
Chance to change that which you can-
Accept that which you cannot control-
Open your eyes and search about-
All is not lost if only you choose to try…

Great poem, my image sometimes is not what I like when I see it from anothers respective, so I trust my own judgement of my own heart that my image of me is a beautiful creation, and I search deep inside of me, and I like it:>
