I can say thank you for your quietness
Maybe I did overwhelm you, but I think that’s ok
You seem to handle all very well, despite my foolishness
I can understand, that only friends it will be
I do get embarrassed each time I’m in your way
I guess my heart just had to let it see
This time thru, so not to loose sight of my love and honesty
For that, I’m not sorry. I’m just glad you’re still here
Letting me get thru my feelings, understandably
Sometimes, it’s not easy to quell the emotions of care
My heart loves and shares all of that
But I also know that someday,
A special gent will not be afraid, be a diplomat
And take a hold of all I have, his feelings openly display
You are still the true special gentlemen friend to me
Very giving and caring, thoughtful in all you do
I know this is all you want, so this is ok, you see
Nothing wrong with caring as a friend, as a rule
Please accept this message in good standing
Not responding is a way you have
Showing the patience of no demanding
I understand more then you may know, living halves
A youngster of age may seemly be me
I have attained the experienced earned and learned
From those far ahead of myself, my mind does turn
You have added to that time, as my foolishness did plea
I say thank you for your respect in your quiet reproach
I just wish you happiness in your time
My well meaning heart had a nice approach
I will just be a friend, as its essence shall chime
Moving forward in our lives
Whatever comes along, friendship always thrives

Thank you. I know I will, it just takes time, not always easy to wait. but I am hoping it will be worth it. As I wrote in my one write, about Faith, I am hoping for all of that.

That's so true, that last line... "friendship always thrives". If it is a true friendship, then no matter what, it always lasts. I'm glad that this young man didn't hurt you, but instead is still there for you. Great write Rose!!! Thanks for sharing this, I'm going through a similiar situation (or we have been going through this for quite some time) with my best-friend. It's nice to see that everything worked out ok for you in the end... maybe there's hope. Great write!

thank you for the comments and support. although we never went anywhere, it was my heart who talked this time, but, still he is there, but just as a quiet friend. Although he isn't a young man, he is older then myself, by a good leap. But still, I knew he was afraid, or he would have come out and said he was already with someone or not interested. the no response is his way of being afraid to speak, and say what he feels. Afterall, why am I allowed to still be at his work area, and be around him, if he wasn't. :) just time for my heart to move on...
thank you all for your support.
Amber Rose :) |
