If I Were

Contributed by parkman on Saturday, 8th May 2004 @ 01:15:59 PM in AEST
Topic: oops

If I were a hero, what would I be
A knight in shining armour, to come and rescue thee
Slay the dragon and slay the beast
Free the land, to say the least

If I were a hero, what would I be
A masked crusader, to set poor people free
Give them a life, not poverty ridden
Then they would think, they were in heaven

If I were a hero, what would I be
A wonder man, to make evil flee
To weed it all out, make the world clean
Make it all happy, not vile and obscene

But I'm not a hero, just a bloke with a pen
I can't change anything, not now or then
Still I will scribble, the way that I do
And maybe one day, have some influence too

We all have an influence on those around us whether directly or indirectly. I can assure you that you have touched someone in life and many more before you leave this earth. Many time a simple smile, nod, or cheery word can change a persons day. That is as great as heroic deeds performed.

But you already ARE a hero... even if you don't realise it. And your words do influence others... Good write

Words can and do have a great influence on people. No doubt your writings have made some kind of impact on many peoples lives. You are a top class writer, with a great ability to write about everyday occurances. Keep up the good work. ~ Star x

Poetry is much like a great photo, a single "moment in time" capturing many feelings and emotions. Yet, they are very alive; creating stirrings within the readers who form visual "pictures" of the expressed emotions within the Poem. ©
