Froze Gold

A river froze gold
from the ever so cold
all the miners found it
and a lot of it was sold
Parts went to buildings
parts went to banks
A little went to lottery winnings
And more was looked for in lakes
No one was satisfied
With their share of wealth
They even dug into their land
Heading straight to hell
Even now we pan the rivers
looking for the extra bits
we are hoping that
the river will freeze gold again.

It is a unique topic. It just felt a bit stilted as I read it. It has the concept of a poem, just a bit stiff, I think.
