City Walls

selfstruggles

Sedation seeped through head rests
To lift the hairs on the back of his neck
With the steering wheel amidst a white-knuckle grip
The needle left in vein was that of yesterday's
And memories he so desperately wishes to obtain
Are the ones so eager to erase
At the expense of an accelerated heart beat
This vehicle manufactured in angst
The city just south of pride
In his state of mind
What he would give to silence the voice
The one without tongue
Seemingly everywhere, but without origin
Trust left his side when he built this wall

Impressive. I dearly adore poetry that tells of a story. -Props- |
